Is StudyVector free?
Is StudyVector free?
Yes. StudyVector is free to start — no card required. The Starter plan covers daily practice, the Error Log and AI explanations with daily limits. Premium (around £12.99/month) unlocks unlimited practice, full mock exams, essay marking and the revision planner. The first seven days have no time cap, then Starter resets daily.
What's on the free Starter plan
The Starter plan is designed to be genuinely useful, not a sample. Anyone can sign up with an email and start practising the same evening.
- Daily exam-style practice across all live subjects (GCSE and A-Level).
- AI-supported worked solutions when you get a question wrong.
- Weak-topic detection across the topics you practise.
- Personal Error Log so the same mistakes don't re-occur.
- Free predicted-paper pages and past-paper hubs (unlimited reads).
What unlocks on Premium
Premium is the paid tier. It removes the daily question cap and turns on the longer-form features designed for revision close to exams.
- Unlimited daily practice across every subject.
- Full timed mock exams with mark schemes.
- Essay marking with rubric-aligned feedback (English, History, Politics, etc.).
- The full revision planner: weekly schedule, deadline-aware, automatic re-prioritisation.
- Priority queue for new predicted-paper content as it lands.
How much does Premium cost?
Premium pricing is published on the pricing page and reflects monthly billing. There are exam-window passes (a one-off charge that lasts through April/May/June) and rolling monthly subscriptions. Students can cancel at any time. There is no parent payment gate — students manage their own account.
Why charge anything?
Premium pays for the AI marking and personalised question generation that produce the worked solutions, the Error Log re-surfacing logic and the predicted-paper authoring. Free-only platforms typically rely on adverts or sell data; StudyVector does neither. See the privacy policy and student-privacy page for what's collected and what isn't.
Frequently asked
- Do I need a card to sign up?
- No. Signup is email-based and the Starter plan is permanently free. You only need a card if you choose to upgrade to Premium.
- Are there hidden fees?
- No. The Starter plan is free, with daily limits clearly shown in the product. Premium price is shown on the pricing page; there are no in-app micro-purchases on top.
- Is Premium worth it?
- It depends on usage. Students sitting GCSE or A-Level exams typically benefit from Premium in the final 6–8 weeks because unlimited practice and timed mocks become the bottleneck. Students earlier in the year often do well on the Starter plan plus the free predicted-paper pages.
- Can schools or teachers get a free tier for classes?
- Schools can request a teacher-tier trial via the contact page. There is no parent-side paywall — students can sign up directly with a school email.
- Is the free predicted-paper coverage really unlimited?
- Yes — predicted-paper pages are static SEO pages and free to read with no daily cap. Practising the questions inside them counts against the Starter daily limit; the page content (paper structure, hot topics, mark scheme) is always free.
