Kirchhoff's laws
Also known as: Kirchhoff's voltage law, Kirchhoff's current law
What is kirchhoff's laws?
Kirchhoff's laws govern electrical networks. The Current Law (KCL): the sum of currents entering a junction equals the sum of currents leaving it (conservation of charge). The Voltage Law (KVL): the sum of EMFs around a closed loop equals the sum of potential differences (conservation of energy). A-Level Physics applies them to circuits with multiple loops, branched paths and cells in parallel or series.
